Because of the coronavirus epidemic, the 50-over Women’s World Cup, which was initially scheduled for February and March 2021, has been postponed until 2022. After winning the World Cup on home soil in 2017, England is the defending champion.
In the 2005 and 2017 editions of the ODI World Cup, India finished as runners-up, losing to Australia and England, respectively. In both editions, Mithali Raj captained the Indian team and was the best run scorer in the 2005 tournament.
The tournament in New Zealand begins on March 4
