Former New Zealand captain, Brendon McCullum appointed head coach for England men’s Test team. The 40-year-tenure old’s as Test captain will begin on June 2 at Lord’s in the home series against New Zealand, subject to getting the appropriate work visa.

Key, Tom Harrison [CEO], Andrew Strauss [Strategic Adviser], and Mo Bobat [Performance Director] are claimed to have impressed the ECB’s selection panel, which unanimously decided to hire him and Brendon McCullum appointed head coach for England .
Key praised McCullum’s contributions to New Zealand cricket over his 101-match career, which included a four-year captaincy spell from 2012 to 2016 “He has a track record of improving cricket culture and conditions, and I feel he is the right man for the job in England’s red-ball game. We were extremely fortunate to have a very strong list of qualified candidates for the position, with Brendon clearly establishing that he was our first pick.”

McCullum agreed with Key that England should begin a new era of Test cricket under Stokes. “I look forward to working closely with Ben Stokes to construct a successful unit around us,” McCullum added.
“I’d like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to contribute positively to England’s Test cricket setup and help the team progress towards a more prosperous age.” I am well aware of the huge obstacles the team is facing at the moment, and I am confident in my ability to help the squad emerge as a greater force once we’ve faced them head-on,” he added.

The former New Zealand captain is now the head coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders of the Indian Premier League (IPL) (KKR) and now Former New Zealand captain, Brendon McCullum appointed head coach for England too. He previously led the Trinbago Knight Riders to the Caribbean Premier League championship in 2020.
The cricketer-turned-coach, who is 40 years old, is due to arrive in the UK later this month. KKR still has two games left in their IPL group stage, one against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Saturday and the other against Lucknow Super Giants on May 18. (LSG). KKR are presently eighth in the IPL 2022 rankings with 10 points from 12 games. Their chances of making the playoffs appear slim.
