The Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, has confirmed that he is ready to play in the next World Cup, scheduled to be held in South Africa in 2027, and he aims to win it for India.
During a recent chat with Breakfast With Champions, Rohit Sharma revealed that his body is in great shape, which will allow him to play for next few years. Notably, he is set to captain Team India in both the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 and the WTC 2025.
Here’s what Rohit Sharma said:
“I am still playing well at this point in time – so I am thinking I am going to continue for a few more years – I really want to win the World Cup, there is a WTC final in 2025, hopefully India makes it.”
Rohit Sharma led Team India in the recent ICC ODI World Cup 2023, held in India, where the Men in Blue won all the league stage matches but ultimately lost the final against Australia.
The last time Team India lifted the World Cup was under MS Dhoni’s leadership in 2011. Now, over a decade later, the drought for the trophy continues.
