The T20 World Cup 2024 witnessed a nail-biting encounter between arch-rivals India and Pakistan at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
In a low-scoring thriller, India emerged victorious by a narrow margin of 6 runs. However, the post-match scene was emotional as Pakistan’s young pace sensation, Naseem Shah broke down in tears.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam opted to field first, restricting India to a modest total of 119 runs. Naseem Shah, displaying his bowling prowess, picked up 3 crucial wickets while conceding a mere 5.25 runs per over.
Chasing a seemingly attainable target, Pakistan found themselves in a tough situation when Naseem Shah walked in to bat at number 8.
Despite his valiant effort, scoring 2 boundaries with the team needing 14 runs off the last 4 deliveries, Pakistan fell short. The raw emotions of the young fast bowler were evident as he was seen shedding tears after the defeat.
India’s bowling attack, spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah, deserves credit for their exceptional performance. Bumrah, proved to be India’s saviour, bowling a tight spell and taking a wicket in the penultimate over.
He finished with figures of 3/3.50, earning him a well-deserved Man of the Match award. Earlier with the bat, Rishabh Pant top scored with 42 runs from 31 balls.
