Deepti Sharma’s heroics propelled London Spirit to their maiden The Hundred title as the Indian all-rounder smashed the winning six in a thrilling final.

The chase was not easy for the London Spirits. With four runs needed from three balls, Deepti Sharma unleashed a powerful six to seal a dramatic four-wicket victory for London Spirit and clinch their first Women’s Hundred title.

Watch the iconic moment here:

Earlier batting first, the Welsh Fire Women with a brilliant knock from Jess Jonassen who scored 54 runs off 41 balls, and Tammy Beaumont’s 21 off 16 helped them to post a total of 115-8 to defend.

The London Spirit’s bowling line-up led by Tara Norris, Sarah Glenn, and all-rounder Deepti Sharma took wickets in every interval to restrict the Welsh side to under 120.

Chasing, the London Spirits women started strongly and were going into a final over thriller as they needed 11 runs from the last 12 balls. Deepti maintained her composure with the bat and the ball which ensured that the London Spirits were alive in the game.

With 4 runs needed from the last 3 balls, Deepti’s six of Hayley Mathews over the long on sealed the game for the London Spirits and a campaign to remember for the all-rounder Deepti Sharma.

“Hitting the winning six was an amazing feeling,” said Deepti Sharma. “I wasn’t nervous at all; I was confident I could do it. I always think positive!”
