New Zealand’s Chris Gaffaney and Australia’s Rodney Tucker will serve as the on-field umpires for the T20 World Cup 2024 semifinal between India and England in Providence, Guyana on Thursday.
England, the reigning champions, advanced to the semifinal with a thumping 10-wicket win against co-hosts USA, whereas India wrapped up a perfect Super 8s stage with a 24-run victory over the 2021 champions Australia.
In the second semi-final between India and England, Joel Wilson will take on the role of TV Umpire, while Paul Reiffel will be the fourth umpire. New Zealand’s Jeffrey Crowe will be the match referee for the second semifinal.
On the other hand, England’s Richard Illingworth and India’s Nitin Menon will serve as on-field umpires for Afghanistan’s historic first T20 World Cup semifinal against South Africa in Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday.
Notably, Afghanistan advanced to the semifinals with an eight-run win over Bangladesh, thanks to DLS, eliminating Australia from the tournament. South Africa, on the other hand, remained unbeaten throughout the tournament.
Richie Richardson from West Indies will serve as the match referee for the first semifinal.
