237: This is the highest individual score notched up by a batter in the history of the ODI World Cup. Martin Guptill’s knock of 237 helped New Zealand beat the West Indies, and the Kiwis progressed to the semi-final in the 2015 edition.

2: Guptill and the West Indies swashbuckling batter, Chris Gayle, are the only two batsmen with 200+ scores in the World Cup. Notably, both batters smashed their double centuries in the 2015 edition.

20: More than 20 batters have scored 150 or more runs in this quadrennial competition.

1: David Warner, the Australian southpaw, is the only player with two 160+ scores in the Cricket World Cup. His first knock of 178 came in 133 balls against Afghanistan at the WACA, Perth in 2015. While his other innings came against Bangladesh in Nottingham in 2019, where he amassed 166 runs off 147 balls.

85.07: New Zealand’s Glenn Turner scored his unbeaten 171 runs off 201 balls at a meagre strike rate of 85.07. This is the lowest strike rate among the batters with 150+ scores.

17: England’s World Cup winning captain, Eoin Morgan, smacked 17 sixes in his quickfire innings of 148 runs off 71 balls against Afghanistan in the 2019 World Cup. This is the most sixes hit in an innings of an ODI match.

245.45: In the 2015 World Cup clash against the West Indies, South Africa’s batting maestro AB de Villiers was on a roll as he smashed 162* off 66 balls. His innings came at a mind-boggling strike rate of 245.45. This is the highest strike rate among the batters who have scored 150 or more.

149: Australia’s wicketkeeper-batsman, Adam Gilchrist, went all guns blazing against Sri Lanka in the 2007 edition’s final. Gilchrist’s 149 runs is the highest score in the World Cup finals.
