T20 World Cup Champions India Served Meals on Paper Plates in Barbados | Source: X.com
The Indian cricket team, fresh off from their World Cup win, had to eat off paper plates and stand in line for food in Barbados.
Notably, the Indian team is stuck in Barbados following a hurricane warning named Beryl. All outbound flights have been cancelled, and the airport is closed.
The team, which was originally scheduled to depart from Barbados to home on July 1 is still in Barbados and will only fly after the situation will ease off. They are expected to reach India on July 2.
The airport will likely remain closed until Monday noon (BST), reopening only after the hurricane threat lessens. Along with the airport, all hotels, restaurants, and shops in Barbados have closed.
According to a recent RevSportz report, players are queuing for meals on paper plates. Due to the emergency, both players and staff are confined to their accommodations. The shortage of staff has led to the use of paper plates for serving meals.
The BCCI has recently committed to offering complete support to Team India, the support staff, and the media team in departing from Barbados once the hurricane conditions improve.
