Pakistan beat Canada by 7 wickets to keep their Super 8 qualification chances alive in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.
In a must-win game, Babar Azam won a crucial toss and opted to field first, a decision that proved to be very important on a challenging New York pitch.

The move paid immediate dividends as they picked up the wickets of Navneet Dhaliwal (4 off 7) and Pargat Singh (2 off 6) within the powerplay.
The Canadian batting order then suffered a middle-order collapse, with none of their batters managing to reach double digits.

Aaron Johnson was the lone bright spark, trying his best to build an innings and guide his side to a defendable total.
He finished as the top scorer for Canada with 52 runs off 44 balls, including four boundaries and four sixes.

Canada limped to a final score of 106/7, with Mohammad Amir wreaking havoc with the ball, taking 2/13 in his spell.
In reply, Pakistan were determined to chase down the modest target and avoid repeating the mistakes made against India at the same venue a few days back.

Although Canada got off to a good start by dismissing Saim Ayub early, the game turned on its head thanks to a crucial 63-run partnership between skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. This partnership laid the foundation for Pakistan’s victory.
