Australia’s premier opening batter Travis Head has overtaken India’s middle-order maestro Suryakumar Yadav to claim the top position in the ICC T20I batting rankings. Suryakumar had held the top rank since December 2023.
The dynamic Indian batter is a cornerstone of India’s T20 team. In the T20 World Cup 2024, Suryakumar amassed 149 runs in six matches, averaging 29.80 with a strike rate of 139.25. He has already hit two half-centuries in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Travis Head stands as the second-highest run scorer in the T20 World Cup 2024 with 255 runs in 7 matches at a strike rate of 158.39 and an average of 42.50. His stats will stay put, with Australia now out of contention in the T20 World Cup 2024.
