In a surprising turn at Harare Sports Club, Zimbabwe snapped India’s 12-match winning streak in T20 internationals with a solid 13-run victory in the series opener.
Led by young captain Shubman Gill, India started strong by bowling out Zimbabwe for just 108 runs. Ravi Bishnoi starred with four wickets, keeping the opposition in check.
But India faltered in their chase right from the start. Abhishek Sharma got out without scoring, setting off a collapse. Despite Gill’s effort to hold the innings together, he fell for 31 runs to Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza.
After Gill’s dismissal, India struggled to build partnerships and lost wickets regularly. They eventually managed only 102 runs before being all out.
