In the latest turn of events, Sarfaraz Ahmed has been removed from the captaincy of Quetta Gladiators ahead of the Pakistan Super League 2024 season. The team’s owner, Nadeem Umar, has confirmed the news.
The team will announce the new captain soon, as per a report by Geo News. Notably, Sarfaraz was appointed Gladiators’ captain when the league was inaugurated in 2016 and led his side to the final.

The Quetta Gladiators, under the captaincy of Sarfaraz Ahmed, went on to clinch the PSL title in 2019, beating Peshawar Zalmi by eight wickets in the final. Apart from that, the Gladiators never managed to reach the final.
