Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, has praised vice-captain and all-rounder Hardik Pandya for his outstanding performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.
Team India defeated Bangladesh by 50 runs, moving a step closer to securing a semi-final spot. Hardik Pandya shone with the bat, scoring an unbeaten half-century off just 27 balls.
In addition, with the ball, he secured one wicket in his three overs. Overall, he has accumulated 89 runs in three innings and taken eight wickets across five matches in the T20 World Cup 2024.
Speaking in the post match conference, and discussing Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma stated that he is a crucial player for the team, and whenever he performs well, it greatly benefits them. Here’s what he said:
“I mentioned in the last game as well, Hardik batting well puts us in a good stead. We want to finish well after the top 5, 6, Hardik being Hardik we know what he is capable of. He is a very important player for us, if he can keep doing that, it will put us in good positions.”
