The former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has fired back at Rohit Sharma after the Indian captain urged him to use his brain before making ball-tampering allegations against Team India.
Inzamam-ul-Haq, one of the most celebrated cricketers in Pakistan’s history, recently accused Team India of tampering with the ball to make it reverse swing, specifically targeting left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh.

During a press conference before India’s semi-final match against England, Rohit Sharma was asked about Inzamam-ul-Haq’s allegations.
Rohit Sharma responded by saying that the pitches in the Caribbean are dry, unlike those in England, South Africa, and Australia, which naturally causes the ball to reverse swing.

In a recent conversation with News24, Inzamam-ul-Haq lashed out at Rohit Sharma, stating that Pakistan players do not need to be taught about reverse swing as they consider themselves the inventors of the technique.

“I don’t think Rohit Sharma needs to tell us about reverse swing, how it’s done, and the conditions required for it. Reverse swing originated in Pakistan, so he doesn’t need to teach us about it.”

Inzamam-ul-Haq further called on umpires to remain vigilant during Indian matches in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, implying that India might be doing something to the ball to achieve a reverse swing.

“Honestly, I suggested that the umpires keep their eyes open. I will once again ask the umpires to keep their eyes and brains open while officiating in the Indian matches.”

Meanwhile, Team India convincingly beat England by 68 runs in the second semi-final, securing their place in the final of the tournament, where they will face South Africa on June 29. Notably, both India and South Africa remain unbeaten throughout the tournament.
