Among all the teams in the history of the Indian Premier League, none have had worse luck than the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Several cricket legends, including Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers, have graced the RCB roster over the years, yet the team has never clinched the IPL trophy since its inception.
RCB’s resurgence in the 2024 Indian Premier League season led them to the playoffs, but their hopes were dashed in the eliminator once again.
Kolkata Knight Riders, led by Shreyas Iyer, secured the IPL 2024 championship. During a recent podcast, KKR’s young pace sensation Harshit Rana discussed why RCB has faced challenges in lifting the trophy.
Here’s what Harshit Rana told Shubhankar Mishra:
“Sir, unki kismat kharab hain (I think they have bad luck).”
Question – why didn’t RCB win a trophy yet?Harshit Rana – Sir, unki kismat kharab hain (I think they have bad luck). (Shubhankar Mishra YT). pic.twitter.com/bBq8JzCf9b— Mufaddal Vohra (@mufaddal_vohra) June 17, 2024
RCB reached the finals in 2016 under Virat Kohli‘s leadership but fell short of claiming the trophy. Kohli stepped down from captaincy before IPL 2022, with Faf du Plessis taking over.
