Rahul Dravid Recommended as Next Head Coach of England Cricket Team | Source: X.com
Following a disappointing campaign in the T20 World Cup 2024, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has been searching for a new head coach for the England white-ball team.
Among the names shortlisted to succeed Matthew Mott as the head coach of the England white-ball team were Andrew Flintoff, Michael Hussey, Eoin Morgan, and Kumar Sangakkara.
However, Eoin Morgan recently dispelled rumours about him taking over as head coach of the England cricket team and has now endorsed Rahul Dravid, the T20 World Cup-winning coach, as the ideal candidate for the England cricket team’s head coach position.
Aside from Dravid, Eoin Morgan believes the England cricket board should also look at Brendon McCullum, the current head coach of the England red-ball team, to potentially take over the white-ball team.
“In my eyes, at the moment, you would go to Rahul Dravid, Ricky Ponting, Stephen Fleming and Brendon McCullum,” Morgan said during a chat with Sky Sports.
“I say that because I believe he is one of the best coaches in the world. You can see what he did with the England Test team.”
What’s Next for Rahul Dravid?
Rahul Dravid, the former T20 World Cup-winning coach, has been without a job since his contract with the Indian team expired in July.
While Dravid is not pursuing a full-time position, earlier reports indicate that he is still a candidate for a coaching role with an IPL team starting next season.
