The Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, has dedicated the T20 World Cup win to the outgoing coach, Rahul Dravid, stating that Dravid deserved it more than anyone else.
Rahul Dravid took charge of the team after the T20 World Cup 2021 debacle and has since been striving to lead India to an ICC trophy win. After finishing up as runner-ups in two ICC events, India finally managed to end their trophy drought.
Rahul Dravid, who couldn’t secure an ICC trophy as a player, now celebrates his first T20 World Cup win as coach. Here’s what Rohit Sharma said in the press conference:
“More than anyone, Rahul Bhai deserves this trophy for what he has done for Indian cricket in the last 25+ years, this was the only one thing that was left in his cabinet.”
