The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has refused to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the promising young fast bowler, Naeem Shah for the upcoming season of The Hundred.
This comes as a huge blow for Birmingham Phoenix. Shaheen Shah Afridi had earlier opted out of The Hundred to play in the Global T20 League Canada. However, the PCB has refused to issue him an NOC for that tournament as well.
Update: The PCB has denied NOC to Naseem Shah for The Hundred league due to workload management, as per Geo News ????????❌Naseem will not be getting PKR 45 Million as he was signed by Birmingham Phoenix for £125,000. Shaheen Afridi wasn’t the only one; stars like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were also gearing up for the Global T20 Canada. However, it seems that none of these Pakistani players will get NOCs to participate in the tournament.
According to ESPNcricinfo, the Pakistan Cricket Board wants their players to rest in Pakistan and prepare themselves for the upcoming series, rather than participating in T20 tournaments.

It’s important to note that none of the mentioned tournaments overlapped with the schedule of the Pakistan national cricket team‘s series. They are set to play a two-match Test series against Bangladesh, commencing on August 21.
However, this does not necessarily mean that no NOC requests will be considered, with the most recent NOC restrictions likely to affect only those considered regulars across all formats. Usama Mir, Haris Rauf and other non-regulars are likely to get NOCs from the board.
