New Zealand defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in the third T20 match of the five-match series, levelling the series 1–1 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday, April 21.
Batting first, Pakistan managed to score 178 runs for the loss of four wickets in the allocated 20 overs, with captain Babar Azam scoring 37 runs from 29 balls, while Irrfan Khan Niazi, and Shadab Khan contributed with 30 and 41 runs respectively.
In reply, New Zealand got off to a great start, courtesy of Tim Robinson and Tim Seifert. Later, it was the outstanding knock from Mark Chapman, who played an unbeaten innings of 87 runs from just 42 balls to help New Zealand chase down the target in just 18.2 overs.
There’s no denying that New Zealand, an inexperienced side, performed exceptionally well against Pakistan, despite key players being busy in the IPL and others sidelined due to injuries.
