Suved Parkar enters record books with 200 on Ranji Trophy debut, and made history on Tuesday by being the 12th Indian batter to register a double century on their first-class debut in a Ranji Trophy match against Uttarakhand.

Parkar, who was batting on 104 at stumps on Monday, achieved his double century on the second day of the five-day encounter at the Alur Cricket Ground, helping Mumbai cross 600 runs.

In the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal, Parkar was filling in for the injured Ajinkya Rahane.

As a result, he became the second batter from Mumbai and the 12th batter from India overall. He is only the 23rd hitter in history to score a double century in his first-class debut.

Mumbai, who chose to bat after winning the toss, were 632/7 in 165 overs at the time of writing this piece, with Sarfaraz Khan hitting 153 and Parkar batting on 240.
