The superb knocks of Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav helped Delhi Capitals beat Mumbai Indians by 4 wickets in their IPL 2022 opener.
Delhi chased down a competitive total of 177 runs in 18.2 overs thanks to a 70-run partnership between Patel and Lalit Yadav in just 30 balls.
Rohit Sharma, speaking after the match, stated, “It was a decent score in my opinion. At first glance, it didn’t appear to be a pitch where you could score 170 points, but we played in the middle and finished strongly. We just didn’t bowl as well as we had hoped. Whether it’s the first or last game, we always come prepared. Every game is something we want to win. Things did not go as planned, but that is to be expected. All you have to do now is stick together as a group and apply what you’ve learned. The loss was disappointing, but it was not the end.”
