A sensational catch by Derone Davis during the rub-chase of Texas Super Kings’ turned the tide in favour of the Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) in the recently played match in the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2024.
Chasing a target of 163 runs, the Super Kings looked well on course with their batter J. Tromp and Devon Conway batting comfortably. However, Ali Khan brought LAKR back into the contest with a triple-wicket over.
The second wicket, courtesy of Davis’ spectacular effort, left the commentators and the crowd in awe. Facing a short delivery outside off-stump from Ali Khan, Tromp sliced the ball towards deep third man.
In a seemingly impossible feat, Davis flung himself to his left, diving full length in mid-air. With a reverse cup catch attempt, he managed to get a hand on the ball before it hit the ground.
The ball popped out momentarily, but Davis, with exceptional reflexes, pulled it off in the second grab despite his elbow hitting the turf. Television replays confirmed a clean catch,sending Tromp back to the pavilion.
