Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) suffer a major blow as Indian bowler Shivam Mavi is sidelined for the rest of IPL 2024 due to injury.
Having secured Mavi for a hefty sum of INR 6.4 crore during the IPL 2024 auction, LSG pinned high hopes on his integral role in fortifying the team’s bowling arsenal.
In a video shared by Lucknow Super Giants on their official social media platform, Mavi revealed that he had been nursing an injury even before joining the team camp.
However, he was hopeful of playing matches and contributing to the team’s success. Unfortunately, the injury has now forced him to leave the camp and start his rehabilitation process.
“I will miss [the tournament] a lot. I had come here after an injury and had thought I would play matches for my team and do well. But unfortunately, I will have to leave because I have suffered an injury,” Mavi said in the video.
“We got a very good team, I will keep cheering for the team and hopefully, we will win,” he concluded.
