On July 9th, the Jaffna Kings, the league leaders, clashed with the struggling Kandy Falcons at Dambulla Stadium. The match turned into a one-man show by Pathum Nissanka. The young batting sensation blazed his way to a magnificent century.

Batting first, Jaffna Kings put up a mammoth total of 224/7 on the board. Pathum Nissanka was the star of the show, scoring a blistering 119 runs off just 59 balls. His knock was laced with 16 boundaries and 4 sixes.

With this, Nissanka shattered the record for the highest individual score in Lanka Premier League history. The previous record belonged to Laurie Evans, who scored 108* off 65 balls in the 2020 edition.
