Injured Mehidy Hasan ruled out of 1st Test against Sri Lanka
Due to a finger injury, Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan ruled out and will miss the first Test against Sri Lanka.
The 24-year-old was hurt while playing for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in the current Dhaka Premier League.
During his team’s match against Prime Bank Cricketers Club at the BKSP on Sunday, Miraz injured his finger while attempting to catch Tamim Iqbal.
Habibul Bashar, a member of the selection panel, outlined the situation around the Khulna-born all-rounder and confirmed the Mehidy Hasan ruled out of the 1st Test.
“He (Mehidy) is definitely ruled out of the first Test owing to a hairline injury, and he is also dubious for the second Test,”

Sri Lanka will arrive in Bangladesh on Sunday, May 8, and will play a two-day practise match at Chattogram’s MA Aziz Stadium on Wednesday, May 11.
The first of the two-match Test series is set to begin on Sunday, May 15 at Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
The second and final Test will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Monday, May 23.
Both matches are part of the 2021-2023 World Test Championship cycle (WTC). Bangladesh is ranked ninth in the points standings with 12 points.
