Tristan Stubbs Replaces Injured Tymal Mills, Will Be Joining Soon

Tristan Stubbs replaces injured Tymal Mills for the Mumbai Indians. For the remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, the Mumbai Indians (MI) have recruited Tristan Stubbs as a replacement for left-arm bowler Tymal Mills. Mills has been ruled out for the remainder of the competition due to an ankle injury. Tristan Stubbs, his replacement, is a 21-year-old South African wicketkeeper. He has played 17 T20s and scored 506 runs at a strike rate of 157.14, including three half centuries. He would be paid INR 20 lakh to join MI.

“The Mumbai Indians have recruited South African Tristan Stubbs and Tristan Stubbs Replaces Injured Tymal Mills, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the IPL,” the MI said in a statement.

“The 21-year-old, promising middle-order batsman made his national South African A Squad debut against Zimbabwe recently. Tristan had a strong domestic season, contributing significantly to his team’s success in the just concluded T20 domestic competition.

“Tristan will remain with MI for the remainder of the season.”

Tristan Stubbs Replaces Injured Tymal Mills, has played 17 T20s and has scored 506 runs scoring three half-centuries at a strike rate of 157.14. He will join MI at the price of INR 20 Lakh, according to a release on the official website of the IPL.

The Mumbai Indians had the worst start to a team in the history of the competition, losing all eight of their games. Last week, the team won its first match of the season, defeating Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals by five wickets at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.

Mills, who was purchased for INR 1.50 crore by the club in the blockbuster auction preceding the league, conceded at an economy rate of 11.50 in his five games, the worst by a MI pacer with five or more overs in the tournament.

Daniel Sams is currently the side’s highest wicket-taker with seven dismissals to his name. Jasprit Bumrah, who has been one of the leading pacers of the franchise over the years, has taken only five wickets in the season so far.
