IPL 2022: Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul fined for breaching code of conduct of the Indian Premier League, while Marcus Stoinis was given a reprimand.
KL Rahul, the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants, has been penalised 20% of his match money for an alleged Code of Conduct violation during his team’s IPL match against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Mumbai. In a statement, the IPL stated Rahul admitted to a “Level 1 offence” of the IPL Code of Conduct and “accepted the sentence.” Marcus Stoinis, Rahul’s partner, was also admonished for violating the IPL Code of Conduct during the same match on Tuesday night, which RCB won by 18 runs.
Stoinis’ Code of Conduct violation was also not detailed, despite the fact that he was spotted arguing with the on-field umpire during a Josh Hazlewood over.
The announcement stated, “Mr Stoinis acknowledged to the Level 1 infraction of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sentence.”
The Match Referee’s judgement is decisive and binding for Level 1 Code of Conduct violations.
LSG captain KL Rahul fined for breaching code of conduct of the Indian Premier League is the first offence, while for Marcus Stoinis given a reprimand was first as well.
