Deepak Chahar’s back injury has all but ended his chances of playing in the upcoming IPL 2022, increasing to the woes of Chennai Super Kings.
The defending champions, who entered the event without Chahar, their strike bowler, have lost all four of their matches so far in the 10-team league and are at the bottom of the points standings.
While CSK had always stated that their 14 crore acquisition would be healthy by the second week of April, the severity of the rupture meant that “no prospect of his availability” in the tournament.
