Suryakumar Yadav is out of IPL 2022 due to a recent injury
After injuring a muscle in his left forearm, Mumbai Indians middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav is out of IPL 2022.
He sustained the injury during Mumbai’s game against Gujarat Titans on May 6, when he hit an 11-ball 13 to help his team win by five runs.
The decision to drop Suryakumar from the Mumbai Indians’ squad was made in conjunction with the BCCI’s health team, according to a statement released before their match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday evening.
Suryakumar has been sidelined for the second time in recent months due to injuries. He spent three weeks rehabilitating at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru before the commencement of the IPL after suffering a hairline fracture on his thumb in the final match of the T20I series against West Indies on February 22.
As a result, he was forced to miss the opening week of the tournament and only made Mumbai’s XI for their third match of the season, against Knight Riders on April 6.
Suryakumar became the team’s second-highest run-scorer despite playing only eight games, with 303 runs at an average of 43.28 and a strike rate of 145.67 in what has been a disappointing season for the five-time IPL champions, who have battled to move themselves off the bottom of the points table.
Suryakumar is now in a race to be ready for India’s five T20Is against South Africa starting June 9 at home, with an eye on the T20 World Cup later in the year., however Suryakumar Yadav is out of IPL 2022 for the remaining matches bringing
