The availability of Mitchell Marsh and Tim Seifert for the KKR match has given DC a boost. Marsh, who was named to the final XI, was the first player to test positive for COVID-19. He’ll most likely bat third. Seifert isn’t a sure thing for the starting lineup and might end up on the bench. When many of DC’s abroad stars were unavailable for selection, he played two games.
Ricky Ponting to return to DC’s dug-out
Ricky Ponting, the head coach of the Delhi Capitals, will return to the dugout for this crucial match. After a member of his family tested positive for COVID-19, he was placed in isolation for five days. Ponting’s testing came out negative both times.
However, DC’s assistant coach, Pravin Amre, will be absent from the game. The veteran coach was given a one-match ban by the IPL for invading the playing field during a no-ball dispute against Rajasthan Royals. He was penalised together with Rishabh and Shardul Thakur.
