After wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha was withdrawn from the Test squad, journalist Boria Majumdar Banned for 2 Years as he was found guilty of bullying, threatening, and intimidating him. He was given a two-year suspension.
The BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla, treasurer Arun Dhumal, and councillor Prabhtej Singh Bhatia formed a committee that agreed with Saha’s allegations against Majumdar and recommended to the BCCI Apex Committee that the journalist be suspended for two years.
- Banned from attending any match (local or international) in India as a member of the press; and
- Banned from interviewing registered players in India; and
- Banned from using any BCCI or member association-owned cricket facilities.
The recommendations of the investigative panel have been adopted by the Apex Committee and Boria Majumdar Banned for 2 Years.

Following the incident between Saha and Majumdar on Twitter, the BCCI decided to investigate the matter in order to prevent similar incidents with other players.
“As you may be aware, Mr Wriddhiman Saha had shared screenshots of messages sent by a journalist on social media platform, Twitter, wherein he stated that he felt bullied by the conduct of the said journalist. Mr Saha in the hearing named Mr Boria Majumdar as the journalist. BCCI had taken cognizance of this incident and deemed it necessary to investigate and probe the matter to avoid the recurrence of such instances with other players…”
