The young Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan was unhappy with Indian head coach Rahul Dravid and the team management for picking Jitesh Sharma over him in the T20I series against South Africa.
This prompted him to leave the tour prematurely and return to India while the South Africa series was still underway, as per RevSportz’s Thursday report.
The left-handed batter missed the entire Test series and in his absence, KL Rahul donned the wicket-keeping duties.
Following that, he was missing from the home series against Afghanistan and has not been chosen or included in the first two Test matches against England.
Recent reports strongly suggest that there are tensions between Ishan Kishan and the Indian management, particularly with Rahul Dravid, the head coach.
It remains to be seen whether he will be included in the Indian squad for the remaining three test matches against England.
