IPL 2024: Watch How Umpire’s Boundary Error Cost RCB the Game Against KKR
There’s no denying that the umpiring standards in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 have been extremely poor, with former cricketers such as Tom Moody and AB de Villiers frequently pointing out the questionable decisions made by both on-field and third umpires.
One notable controversial call took place during the recent IPL 2024 fixture between RCB and KKR at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on Sunday, April 21st.
In a video, which has gone viral on social media, shows Suyash Prabhudessai hitting Varun Chakraborty for a six to fine leg, a boundary wrongly called as a four by the on-field umpire.
This moment turned out to be the deciding factor between the two teams, as Kolkata Knight Riders narrowly defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by just two runs.
If that delivery had been judged correctly and reviewed by the third umpire, it could have been awarded as a six instead of a boundary, potentially changing the result of the game.
