Punjab Kings batter Ashutosh Sharma delivered a stunning performance with a 61-run innings off only 28 balls in the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash against Mumbai Indians.
Coming to the crease earlier than expected, Ashutosh exhibited sheer brilliance with his array of shots during the innings. He notched up a quickfire fifty in just 23 deliveries, injecting hope into PBKS’s innings.
One of the most memorable moments from Ashutosh Sharma’s inning was his exceptional sweep shot off Jasprit Bumrah, lofting the ball over the leg side for a breathtaking six.

Joining hands with Shashank Singh, Ashutosh orchestrated a rapid-fire partnership of 34 runs off just 17 balls. After Shashank’s departure in the 13th over, Ashutosh took centre stage and took control of the MI bowling attack in the latter part of the innings.
Although it seemed like Ashutosh Sharma might carry PBKS across the finish line, a cleverly executed short ball from Gerald Coetzee resulted in his dismissal at mid-wicket. The hosts fell just nine runs short of the target, being bundled out for 183 runs on the first delivery of the 20th over.
