A controversial decision involving Virat Kohli left the ex-Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain visibly frustrated as his team faced Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2024 match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Sunday, April 21.
During the third over, Harshit Rana bowled a full toss to Kohli, seemingly over waist height, leading to suggestions of a no ball. Kohli’s failed attempt to connect resulted in a caught and bowled dismissal.
The on-field umpire opted to review the decision, referring it to third umpire Michael Gough, who determined that the ball had dipped on the batter, resulting in Kohli’s dismissal being signalled legal.
