Virat Kohli’s outstanding display with the bat was eclipsed by a magnificent innings from Jos Buttler as Rajasthan Royals clinched a six-wicket victory against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 19th match of the IPL 2024.
However, a concerning moment unfolded during the second innings when Kohli, considered to be one of the fittest players in world cricket, was spotted limping on the field.
During the 16th over, the Indian cricket giant was seen hobbling off the field. The incident took place while Yash Dayal delivered the ball to Jos Buttler. Buttler flicked it towards deep mid-wicket, prompting both Kohli and Maxwell to give chase.
Maxwell’s diving attempt to prevent the boundary was unsuccessful, but he managed to deflect the ball back into play. Kohli retrieved the ball and delivered a strong throw back to the keeper. However, it was the twisting motion during the throw that appeared to trouble him.
