Kolkata Knight Riders suffered their second defeat of the IPL 2024 as the Rajasthan Royals handed them a two-wicket defeat, courtesy of Jos Buttler’s sensational century at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
Adding to Kolkata Knight Riders’ woes, their captain Shreyas Iyer has been fined INR 12 Lakhs for maintaining a slow over-rate against the Rajasthan Royals. This marked their first offense of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct.
Jos Buttler’s Century Steals Spotlight from Sunil Narine
It was a high-scoring thriller as Kolkata Knight Riders, riding on Sunil Narine’s magnificent century, posted 223 runs on the board. Even in the second half of the game, KKR looked mostly in control until Jos Buttler turned his game on and started taking the KKR bowlers to the cleaners.
