In the latest turn of events, the New Zealand pacer Matt Henry has replaced David Willey in the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) squad for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.
Notably, earlier there were reports that David Willey will miss the first few matches of the IPL 2024 for LSG. Now, he has been ruled out for the entire season, prompting LSG to sign a replacement.
In February 2017, Matt Henry was bought by the Kings XI Punjab (Now Punjab Kings) for INR 5 million and played two matches in which he picked up one wicket.
Overall, Henry has played 17 T20 matches, picking up 20 wickets at an economy rate of 8.30. This suggests that he is a good T20 bowler but lacks experience.
LSG have already played one match in the IPL 2024, losing against the Rajasthan Royals. Their second match will be against the Punjab Kings on Saturday, March 30, at their home ground, Ekana Stadium.
