The 16th match of the IPL 2024 will see Delhi Capitals (DC) going head-to-head against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Wednesday, April 3 at Vizag Stadium.
Delhi Capitals got off to a rough start, losing two games in a row. But they really turned things around in their latest match against Chennai Super Kings and now they’re pumped to keep the wins coming.

On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders, have barely put a wrong foot in the tournament so far, winning both the matches that they played. Heading into this game, they will be looking to keep their winning streak intact.
In the past five encounters between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders, DC emerged victorious in three. KKR’s last win against DC was in IPL 2021, and they haven’t defeated them in the last two IPL seasons.

What to expect?
KKR has not played any match at this venue, so it will be a good challenge for them. With power hitters on each side it will be a great contest for the fans.

DC vs KKR Toss Prediction
Based on the DC vs CSK match, it’s evident that Visakhapatnam is a high-scoring venue with a flat, batting-friendly pitch.
Nonetheless, the bowlers can extract true pace and bounce if they hit the right spots, as demonstrated by the DC bowlers.
Matheesha Pathirana showcased the effectiveness of accurate yorkers, offering another method to limit damage on this ground.
Historically, teams winning the toss have opted to bowl first, as only three times has the team batting first emerged victorious in T20 matches played here.

DC vs KKR Strengths & Weaknesses

Andre Russell, in great physical shape, delivered a standout performance for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), contributing with both bat and ball. His rapid unbeaten half-century and two wickets played a crucial role in KKR’s victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad and also his bowling looked good against RCB though he did not come to bat.
KKR’s Weaknesses
Although KKR’s spin department seemed strong, it turned out to be a major letdown, with only Sunil Narine making a notable contribution against RCB too. Both Suyash Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy managed to take just one wicket each, and their economy rates were over 9.
DC’s Strengths
The addition of Prithvi Shaw immediately benefited DC, with him scoring a rapid 43 off 27 balls. He formed a solid 91-run opening partnership with David Warner, who contributed 52 runs.
Both Warner and Shaw have impressive track records against KKR, with Shaw’s highest score of 99 coming against them, and Warner having scored an IPL century against KKR as well.
Rishabh Pant also marked his first fifty of the season with an explosive performance. Following their initial victory, DC is in search of a consistent lineup.
