Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (KKR) by seven wickets in the 10th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season on Friday, March 29th, marking the first away win of the season.
Chasing 183, the Kolkata Knight Riders got off to a great start with Sunil Narine and Phil Salt dominating the RCB bowlers. Venkatesh Iyer’s brisk half-century and a smart knock by captain Shreyas Iyer ensured KKR chased down the target in 16.5 overs.

However, when RCB was batting in the first innings, the pitch looked slow, and this is one of the reasons that Virat Kohli‘s unbeaten knock of 83 runs, which he scored off 59 balls with the help of four boundaries and as many maximums, is now receiving backlash from fans.
Some fans even believe that RCB lost the game against KKR because of Kohli’s slow batting and that he could have accelerated and batted at a much better strike rate, similar to what KKR’s openers did.

Let’s delve into social media reactions to Virat Kohli’s innings:

When both Rohit and Kohli batted till the end of 20 overs at M. Chinnaswamy– Rohit scored 121 Runs with 177 SR– Kohli Scored 83 Runs with 140 SRRohit scored almost 40 runs more than Chokli, this shows the difference between a Statpadder and a Hitman. pic.twitter.com/KODWFzcysc— Anil Saharan (@anilsaharanjaat) March 29, 2024

Can’t understand Why Virat Kohli is So Overrated. He always Play Selfish Knock. In Indian Team his Selfish Inning hide by Rohit, Dhoni, Hardik and Surya Knock. In RCB AB Devilliers and Chris Gayle make his Selfish in Winning Cause. #RCBvsKKR#chokli pic.twitter.com/oXjA2KMlAA— Ayush Ranjan (@AyushRaGenius) March 29, 2024
