The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finisher, Dinesh Karthik, has hit the longest six of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
During his highly entertaining knock of 83 runs, Dinesh Karthik smashed a record-breaking 108-meter six, which is now the longest maximum in the ongoing IPL 2024 season.
Karthik’s towering six went over the deep mid-wicket boundary, clearing the roof of the stadium. It came in the 16th over, bowled by T. Natarajan. It was a fuller delivery on the pads of Dinesh Karthik, which he hammered with all his power.
Chasing a mammoth target of 288 runs, RCB were always behind the required run rate from the word go. While Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli provided a solid foundation, it was Dinesh Karthik’s quickfire knock of 83 runs from just 35 balls that kept RCB’s run chase alive.
However, once he got out on the fifth delivery of the 19th over, it was all over for RCB as they lost the game by 20 runs in the highest-scoring encounter. It was the sixth defeat for RCB this season.
