The 17th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season is currently underway between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and opted to bowl first. During the toss, the captain of Gujarat Titans, Shubman Gill, revealed that David Miller is not playing this game due to a niggle, and in his place, Kane Williamson will play.
Notably, this is Kane Williamson‘s first game in the IPL 2024, as he did not play the first three matches for Gujarat Titans. The absence of David Miller will surely be felt by the Titans, as he finished the match for the team against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last game.
“Would’ve bowled, it’s a good wicket. Hopefully it’s going to be an exciting contest. We’ve started pretty well. Got couple games on the road after this. Last year we did well. Miller misses out due to a niggle, Kane comes in,” Shubman Gill said during a toss.
