The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming Women’s Asia Cup T20 2024 on Saturday. The tournament will be held in Dambulla, Sri Lanka.
India, placed in Group A, will begin their campaign against Pakistan on July 19th. The group also includes UAE and Nepal. Harmanpreet Kaur will captain the side, with Smriti Mandhana as her deputy.
The squad features experienced players like Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Renuka Singh Thakur. Richa Ghosh will continue as the primary wicket-keeper with Uma Chetry as her backup.
Young talents like Shreyanka Patil, Sajana Sajeevan, and Asha Sobhana have also been rewarded with call-ups. The pace attack will be led by Pooja Vastrakar, Arundhati Reddy, and Renuka Singh.
Four players – Shweta Sehrawat, Saika Ishaque, Tanuja Kanwer, and Meghna Singh – will travel with the squad as reserves.
