Abhishek Sharma revealed that he used Shubman Gill’s bat to score a century in the second T20I against Zimbabwe. Abhishek further mentioned that he frequently asks for Gill’s bat when he wants to score runs.
Abhishek Sharma shone with the bat in the second India vs Zimbabwe T20I in Harare. Following a disappointing performance in the first match, he was under pressure, particularly with Yashasvi Jaiswal expected to join the squad for the third T20I.
Abhishek, however, handled the pressure well and played an aggressive style of cricket, putting Zimbabwe on the back foot. Once he found his rhythm, he dealt only in boundaries, having struck seven fours and eight sixes.
The young India all-rounder went on to score his maiden international century in Harare. Here’s what Abhishek Sharma said in the post-match conference:
“I played with Shubman’s (Gill) bat today; I did it earlier also. Whenever I need runs, I ask for his bat,” Abhishek Sharma said after the match.”
Powered by Abhishek Sharma’s blistering knock, India set a target of 234 runs in the first innings. The bowlers then contained Zimbabwe to 134 runs, and registered a massive 100-run victory. The five-match T20I series is now at level 1-1.
