Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batter, has come under fire from Indian fans after he did a social media post defending Haris Rauf after whatever happened on London street between Rauf and a Pakistan fan.
The main trigger for Indian fans was Mohammad Rizwan referencing India in his post, although the fan had told Haris Rauf that he was Pakistani. Here’s what Mohammad Rizwan posted on X [Formerly Twitter]:

“It is irrelevant whether the person who disrespected Haris Rauf was from Pakistan or India. What truly matters is that this individual lacked values and manners. No one has the right to disrespect any human being, especially in front of their family members. Such appalling behavior must be stopped. Values like tolerance, respect, and compassion are increasingly rare commodities.”

As for the incident, Haris Rauf was walking with his wife on the streets of London when a fan requested a photo. After Rauf declined, the fan began to hurl insults and abuses. Rauf, visibly frustrated, nearly confronted the fan physically before bystanders intervened to calm the situation.

In the midst of the heated exchange, Haris Rauf angrily remarked that the fan must be from India. The fan then clarified that he was actually from Pakistan. Despite knowing this, Rizwan still chose to mention India in his tweet, which has upset fans in India.
Let’s take a look at some of the reactions:

Absolutely unnecessary to mention ‘India’ here when that fan himself claimed he’s from Pakistan.— Mufaddal Vohra (@mufaddal_vohra) June 18, 2024

Not the first time Rizwan has mentioned India or an Indian player to gain sympathy. He previously tried hard to play the religion card against Shami. Now, after a disastrous performance in the World Cup, Rizwan is playing the India card again to divert the people of Pakistan. pic.twitter.com/bE9mY7hlFs

Have some shame man. It was clearly visible that he was from pak”From Pakistan or India” have some shame— A (@_shortarmjab_) June 18, 2024

Learn to accept the defeat with grace than trying to set narrative against Indians after losing back to back matches against India.

I think, this was plotted by Saya corp to gain sympathy and gain attention of the public and intentionally used Indian fan name to ignore the hate they probably get, and the way they posting now, these assumptions appear to be real.— Vipin Tiwari (@Vipintiwari952_) June 18, 2024

The drama that Harish Rauf is doing is intentionally orchestrated. This whole act has been created by the Pakistani player to gain a little sympathy from the Pakistani public, because after performing poorly in the World Cup, he has to go home too.#harishrauf
