Gus Atkinson’s Test debut is one for the storybooks. The Middlesex pacer delivered a dream performance against West Indies, having claimed a spectacular 5-wicket haul at Lord’s.
England won the toss and opted to bowl first. With the opening partnership needing to be broken, Ben Stokes turned to debutant Atkinson, who rose to the occasion by taking two quick wickets and putting the Windies on the back foot.

Later, the West Indies batters displayed grit, with Alick Athanaze and Kavem Hodge stitching together a 44-run stand for the fourth wicket. However, Atkinson had other plans.
The London-born fast-bowling sensation ripped through the Windies middle-order in a sensational display of fast bowling. Atkinson first dismissed Athanaze, before getting Jason Holder out for a golden duck.

Two balls later, he dismissed Joshua Da Silva for a golden duck, leaving the Windies gasping for air. In a devastating four-ball spell, he dismantled the entire West Indian batting lineup.
