Harbhajan Singh Suggests Gary Kirsten to Coach Indian Cricket Team | Source: X.com
Following Pakistan’s early exit in the group stage of the T20 World Cup 2024, former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has extended an invitation to Gary Kirsten to coach the Indian team.
In a recent statement, Gary Kirsten stated that the Pakistan cricket team is divided, something he has never witnessed in his coaching career. He noted that the players do not support each other.
Gary Kirsten was appointed head coach of the Pakistan cricket team in white-ball cricket prior to the 2024 T20 World Cup, but the team underperformed, losing to both the USA and arch-rivals India.
A major factor contributing to the disappointing performance of Pakistan is the lack of unity. Reports suggest the team is divided into three factions, each led by Babar Azam, Mohammed Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi.
Here’s what Harbhajan Singh wrote on Twitter:

Notably, India last won the World Cup in 2011 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, with Gary Kirsten serving as the coach. Since then, the Indian team has not managed to secure another World Cup title.
