Gautam Gambhir, the newly appointed head coach of Team India, is set to rejoin his franchise coaching staff. The BCCI is reportedly finalising the appointment of Abhishek Nayar as batting coach.
Both Gambhir and Abhishek were recently involved in the coaching team of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), which steered the franchise to their third Indian Premier League (IPL) championship.

On the other hand, the management is keen on keeping T Dilip as the fielding coach. Reports suggest that Gambhir has recommended former India bowler Vinay Kumar’s inclusion as the new bowling coach in the revamped coaching staff.
However, the BCCI has not given the green light to the decision and is deliberating on one more candidate before confirming the appointment. Meanwhile, the BCCI confirmed the appointment of Gautam Gambhir as the head coach on Tuesday July 9.
