With India celebrating their T20 World Cup victory after 11 years, BCCI President Roger Binny hinted at Gautam Gambhir taking over as the head coach of team India.
Notably, the T20 World Cup 2024 was Rahul Dravid’s final tournament as head coach of Team India, and it ended on a high note with India’s victory.

There is a strong likelihood, if not outright confirmation, that Gautam Gambhir will assume the role of the next head coach of Team India, with hints from Roger Binny supporting this.
“Gautam Gambhir has got a lot of experience and if he takes the job it’s definitely going to be a good thing for Indian cricket. He is experienced that’s what India needs. India needs a coach who played the game, and he has played in all three formats of the game,” Roger Binny said.  However, Gautam Gambhir will be in charge of the team from the Sri Lanka tour of India onwards, with VVS Laxman appointed as interim coach for the Zimbabwe tour.
