Former Indian cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth ripped apart Pakistan’s white-ball captain Babar Azam’s batting in T20Is after the team’: early group stage elimination in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Kris Srikkanth, speaking on Star Sports, didn’t mince words about Babar Azam‘s T20 batting, asserting that Pakistan should withdraw from the format. He pointed out that Babar’s strike rate is lacking, despite his status as the top run-scorer in T20Is.

“It’s not my opinion but frankly speaking, I don’t think Babar should play T20 cricket. I mean you can’t do this tuk-tuk all the time in T20 cricket. Look at the stats, they say Babar scored 4,000 runs like Virat or Rohit, but his strike rate is only 112-115. What are you talking about?,” Kris Srikkanth said.
Babar Azam has overtaken India’s star batter Virat Kohli to become the leading run-scorer in T20I history. Babar has accumulated 4,145 runs, including 3 centuries and 36 fifties, averaging 41.03 with a strike rate of 129.08 in 123 matches. Kohli now holds the second position with 4,042 runs in 120 games.
